Straits Time Reflection 4

Q1:
In the last line, what did the writer mean by suggesting that "he may have found more porcupines than rats?"

A1:
I think that the writer may think that Singapore defence force are divided into two categories which is rats and porcupines. Rats are for those who are scared and would scurry away at the sound of footsteps. Porcupines are for those who are brave and strong enough to defend Singapore and warn their opponents away.

Q2:
What's worth giving up your life for?

A2:
I think what's worth giving up my life for is my loved ones, especially my parents. They have helped me throughout these years. In the future i will do the same for them even if i have to give up my life. It is also important to treasure your loved ones deep inside your heart and never to forget about them. If you had caused a lot of troubles with your parents, you mus not give up but continue with your life and continue to loved them forever. For me i'm just happy that i live in a good environment and condition but i pity those who are poor who worked hard to earn money for their families. If i were them, i would of course study and work very hard to help my family, especially my parents. In the future if i have my own family, i will take care of them the same way i will take care my family. I will.

Straits Time Reflection 3

Q1:
Why Coral Secondary School forbids students to idle around near their school in their school uniform?

A1:
The school forbids students to idle around near their school in their school uniform as the principal emphasis much on inculcating in their students good habits such as using time prudently, and not to waste time.

Q2:
Do you agree with this rule?Explain your answer.

A2:
No. I find it very ridiculous. These rules is causing a lot of inconvenience to those students who's parents is working day and night and have no time to cook lunch for them. their parents may give them money to buy food at the White Sands. These rules have forced the students to go home changed out of their uniforms before they can buy lunch at White Sands. These will waste their time just to buy food. Some parents are not happy about this rules same goes to the students. The school even deploys teachers to patrol the shopping mall and neighbouring areas after school and students who were caught were given two hours of detention. The parents and teachers may be concerned for the pupils but the rules is just too strict.

Straits Time Reflection 2

Q.1:
What is Jack Neo's vocation when he was serving the nation?

A.1:
He was a quatermaster, then a platoon commander at an infantry unit and was posted to the Singapore Armed Forces' Music and Drama Company when he was serving the nation.

Q.2:
" Hard work leads to success "
To what extend do you agree with this statement?

A.2:
I agree in these statement because if we are working very hard, stay focus and diligently in our work, we could actually be a success person. We would gain nothing if we are lack in focus or don't take our work seriously and wasting time doing something else. This would make us a loser and we do not want this to happen because this would make others think that you are a lazy person. Just like in the article, Jack Neo is now a famous actor and this is because he never gave up in everything he do and always strive to do his best. The advice is to never give up in every kind of situation you are in because if you believe in yourself and take things seriously, you will gain victory in yourself.

Straits Time Reflection 1

Q1:
How Did The Teenagers Trespass Into Singapore Island Country Club?

A1:
The teenagers Were In A Drunk condition when they were walking in the forested area near MacRitchie Reservoir to see monkeys. After that, they were trying to find their way out but there were no signs showing the way out and also signs showing that they must not be inside the Singapore Island Country Club and that was how they ended up inside the country club.

Q2:
Is Underage Drinking Correct? Explain Your Answer.

A2:
I think underage drinking is incorrect and wrong because we may never know whether we are able to control ourselves after that. Drinking may cause us to be drunk and thus lose control of ourselves we may ended up doing something crazy which is wrong. If we drink a very lrge amount of alcohol, we may even hurt people around us or even ourselves. Drinking a very large amount at one time too can lead to unconsciousness, coma, and even death. Vomiting while unconscious can lead to death by suffocation. After a while, people who drinks alcohol may be addiced to it that they may not be able to stop drinking. It is against the law for an underage to drink alcohol.
